A lot has been happening here over the past few weeks, and we'd like to share some updates with you.

Nitrokey 3 NFC With Significantly Improved NFC Performance

The Nitrokey 3A NFC and Nitrokey 3C NFC can be used with smartphones via wireless NFC. The technical challenge lies in the fact that the Nitrokey is powered entirely via NFC radio, and the NFC antennas and chips built into smartphones vary greatly. Consequently, there are smartphones with which NFC does not work reliably. That’s why we’ve been working for about a year to improve the NFC performance of the Nitrokey 3. The result is redesigned hardware, and the results are impressive: NFC now works significantly more reliably and stably with a wider range of smartphone models. All Nitrokey 3A NFC and Nitrokey 3C NFC units ordered and shipped from now on feature this new hardware with improved performance.

Benefits of a Firmware Update

However, one of the advantages Nitrokey has over other manufacturers is that firmware updates are possible. As a result, even older devices can benefit from improved NFC performance thanks to the latest firmware update. While the improvement isn’t as significant as with updated hardware, it can still result in a noticeable performance boost. If that’s not enough for you, now would be the right time to buy a new Nitrokey.

Nitrokey 3 NFC is Back in Stock

After a long wait, we’ve finally been able to ship all outstanding pre-orders. Thank you very much to everyone who waited so long for their Nitrokey. The wait was worth it, because if you received a Nitrokey 3 NFC in September or October, it already includes the updated hardware with improved NFC performance. For all new orders, the Nitrokey 3A NFC and 3C NFC are back in stock and can be shipped shortly.

Convenient Pre-Clearance of International Orders

Until now, shipments outside the European Union may have required the recipient to clear customs upon import. Depending on the country and the goods, this could be a lengthy and expensive process. To make things easier for our customers, we will now handle customs clearance in the destination country. This means we ship orders with customs duties prepaid as Delivered Duty Paid (DDP). This means there are no unexpected customs fees and no lengthy, time-consuming customs clearance process for you. We transparently bill our customers for import duties and fees as part of their order in the online store.

We will be Represented at the Ä26 Medical Congress in Bonn
