We are glad to introduce you to some new and exciting NetHSM products.
NetHSM-as-a-Service
In addition to the traditional NetHSM hardware, we are now also offering NetHSM-as-a-Service. With this service, we provide you with dedicated NetHSM hardware in a secure data center. You benefit from a high-performance infrastructure without having to invest in hardware yourself or manage data center operations. This is ideal for companies that do not have their own data center infrastructure.
The NetHSM hardware is operated in a high-availability data center in Berlin that is certified to DIN EN ISO/IEC 27001:2022. We handle the provisioning, maintenance, and operation of the dedicated hardware. Support Level S2 is included in the scope of services and ensures prompt resolution of support cases.
You receive full administrator access to NetHSM and retain complete control over your cryptographic processes. Technical administration—including configuration, user, key, and certificate management, backups, monitoring, and software updates—is entirely in your hands. We provide the secure and reliable operating environment for this purpose.
With the dedicated NetHSM-as-a-Service, you avoid the capital costs of purchasing your own hardware and the effort involved in operating your own data center infrastructure. Instead, you benefit from predictable, transparent operating costs, rapid deployment within a few days, and a flexibly scalable hosting environment.
We are also preparing to offer a managed NetHSM-as-a-Service solution in which we handle all operations. This includes monitoring, backups, software updates, and high-availability operation in a cluster. If you are interested, please send us a message.
NetHSM Software Container
For production use, a NetHSM software container can be deployed on your own infrastructure as an alternative to the NetHSM hardware. This offers a balance between moderate security and easy integration while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The NetHSM software container is compatible with Docker and other container engines and is currently in the testing phase. Please contact us if you are interested.

Windows KSP/CNG for NetHSM, Nitrokey HSM
Most software accesses our HSMs via PKCS#11. In a Windows environment, however, PKCS#11 is not supported by all software, such as Windows Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS). Now there is a driver available for software that supports Windows Key Service Provider (KSP) or Cryptography API Next Generation (CNG): PKI Proxy enables the use of NetHSM and Nitrokey HSM 2 via the native Microsoft Windows APIs. The software is easy to use with a graphical interface and fills a gap in our portfolio. Handy: Access to Nitrokey HSM 2 USB keys can also be forwarded to other computers over the network.
Transparent Features and Prices
In line with our philosophy of making security hardware easily accessible, we have now made all NetHSM products available in our online store. The features and prices are clearly listed, and there is no longer any need to submit a manual request. By the way: With us, the full range of features and scalability is included in the base price of NetHSM and does not require any additional activation through paid licenses.
